In my English class in ninth grade. I read The Hunger Games and did my book report on making a map of Panem whilst making a key and a description for it. This is critical thinking because I looked over the geographical hints in the book and figured out the best place where the capitol and districts would be in the continental united states.

In my tenth in grade European history class we did assignments called DBQ's. (Document Based Questions.) The base of what a DBQ is, is reading several articles about a topic throughout history and debate and discuss what article is trying to portray. This DBQ I picked was about Nationalism. This is Critical Thinking because I read the articles and thought and discussed in this paper provided what the people who wrote the articles were trying to say.

In my English 11 class I was asked to write an argumentative essay. I decided to argue on the fact of children needing both parents to be around for the child's healthiest well being. This was Critical Thinking because before using the sources I found to back up my argument. I thought of the things that a child needs and how both parents are very useful and many different ways to help raise the child; I also critically thought on how to best bring forth my argument to influence people in my way of thinking and my side of the argument.

In my U of U writing class my senior year our first assignment was to introduce ourselves in an essay through what we like or hate about writing and what caused us to have those feelings for writing. I wrote about my experiences in creative writing and how I fell in love with it. This was Critical Thinking because I had to look back on my past experiences with creative writing and re think of how I feel and felt about it. I also critically thought of the best experiences to use for this paper because I have several others not mentioned in the paper. As well as critically thinking on whether to write it on regular writing or creative writing because I feel very opposite of each genre of writing.
